Patent Act of India was passed in 1856[Ray].
However, we find the mention of Patent Office from around 1910.
Possibly its permanent office was established in Calcutta that time.

Indian Museum had its nucleus in 1814.
The Indian Museum Act (Act No.XVII of 1866) was passed in 1866 and the Museum was
thrown open to public on 1st April 1878.
The Natural History Section of the Museum started in or before 1907.
